A little chatter from the Founders!
When we started ate, it wasn’t just about opening a café.
It was about creating a space that felt like us — warm, thoughtful, a little experimental, and deeply rooted in the joy of food and coffee.
We’ve both spent years in hospitality, and somewhere along the way, we realised what we love most about it — the quiet magic that happens when someone takes a bite of something made with care. That pause, that smile, that moment of connection — that’s what keeps us doing what we do.
At ate, we wanted to bring that feeling to life.
A place where craft and comfort coexist.
Where you can have a perfectly brewed coffee, a slice of cake that feels personal, or a meal that surprises you in the best way.
We wanted it to feel familiar, but never ordinary.
The name Altogether Experimental was born from our shared curiosity — a desire to keep evolving, to question what hospitality could feel like, and to make something that always has heart.
Every new plate, pastry, and idea comes from that same spirit.
Over time, ate has grown — new cafés, more cakes, new faces joining our team — but the intention has stayed the same. Everything we serve is made with attention to detail, balance, and care. Because for us, food isn’t just about taste — it’s about the feeling it leaves behind.
We’ve had the joy of being part of so many celebrations — weddings, birthdays, little milestones that mean everything to someone. Each of those moments reminds us why we started. To create something that feels honest. To make people happy, even if just for a few minutes.
So whether you’re here for your morning coffee, a long lunch, or a custom cake for your big day — thank you for letting us be part of your story.
Here’s to good food, good coffee, and everything in between!
